I got started doing DH when I was working on my dissertation research at the University of Washington, and developed an idea for a project focusing on economic information in literary and historical documents (http://www.visibleprices.org). In a roundabout way, that project led to my learning more about databases, linked open data, and DH infrastructure and curriculum development. These days, I'm a DH librarian at the University of Miami, working with my colleagues on building UM's DH offerings, as well as continuing work on my own projects.
